Hi, there, BluegrassGurl! I'm so happy you enjoy my home stomping grounds, but I'm rather fond of Kentucky -well, except when we (UT) play UK --I'm sure you understand. I had good friends in Lexington, so I traveled there frequently. The Great State of Kentucky actually clinched for me the topic of my doctoral dissertation when it was mandated that all schools containing 20% or more students on the federal free lunch program would have to integrate educational, health, and social services to better serve these students and their families (called "integrated service"). I though this had probably been done before -and in was, in Hindman, KY (Hindman Settlement School) and Harlan Co. (Pine Mountain Settlement School). So, I studied these schools, researching their in-house archives and those at Berea. Obviously, I'm fond of KY!
I'm so glad you are inspired by the quote. I like your idea of displaying it, and I think I will do the same!
Happy quilting!
