I have my Bernina 440 with the BSR and it isn't fool proof. It did help me not to get tiny stitches. If you plan to do a lot of free motion quilting then it may be helpful. You can do a lot of straight line quilting with other machines. You can learn to FMQ on other machines you just need more practice.
