I didn't put a sink or stove on our island. I wanted a nice big surface for quilt sandwiching or buffets or baking. It's been 15 years here, and I wouldn't change it. My daughter's had either a sink or a stovetop in both of her islands, and I don't like the limited workspace around these things when I'm baking or cooking there.
