I have used retroclean a lot. I like to restore vintage/ antique quilts. I soak them in the bathtub for 4-5 days..changing out the yucky water as necessary. Then,I ( audible gasp heard from the quilt police), put them in my washer on gentle,cool with oxyclean. I dry them upside down on an old sheet on the deck in the shade. If a small stain remains...it's just part of the quilt's history.
