Quilting is a hobby and also one that can cost money for the basic notions and fabric. I purchased most of my supplies at JAF (Jo-Ann Fabric) when they were on sale. First thing to do is try to get sewing a 1/4" seam consistently on your machine. Many post here on suggesting how to accomplish that. You might also check your TV guide doing a search of "quilting" There are many shows such a Quilt in a Day and Love of Quilting. It will give you a view of the basics of quilting.
