I use the regular red size to put around the quilt when I'm hand sewing the binding down. Yes, both sizes seem to be expensive but they sure beat getting pricked by straight pins so its worth it to me. For larger items to keep together I use the office type black clips as I can hook them to a screw in the wall to get them off my cutting table. I bought a package with a couple different sizes in them so I can use them for various reasons. Small ones to keep my notes for a project together and larger ones to keep the blocks together on a project.
