this was my thinking as well. I love this pattern and applaud you for redoing your " beginner days" blocks. Oh, my, I can't fathom what mine were like! Lol

My favorite block is the pinwheel so I love this pattern! l think a narrow, pale or purplish grey border would set off the cream background, draw out the darker tones, and yet not compete with the action like the beautiful florals do. I do think a binding in the large florals would look great to bring all those colors together ,and if you have enough of it, it'd be a stunning backing or, if not, a wide (like 10inch) single piece down one side of a cream back.
