Default The Scrappy I Love

Who knew that this scrappy would be one that I just love!! It started out as “just a give away scrappy,” but as it began to take shape I knew it was going to be a “keeper,” and my daughter made it clear that she will take care of it down the road. Nice way to put it, don’t you think?
I had quite a few small swatches of batiks in my stash...not big enough for much of anything so I began laying the little folded squares out on the table to puzzle out what could be done with them. I started seeing a way to make them flow together in a bit of a planned scrappy. Batiks are so good for this. I could see turquoise in the green fabric and then again turquoise in the purple fabric so those two butted up to each other. Then the purple fabric had a splash of gold in it so the goldish batik was next...and on and on. It was wild trying to keep it all straight with this pattern, but well worth the trouble. The border was just the icing on the cake. I went ahead and backed it with minky, and since it was pretty busy, just a did scrolling FMQ on it, and SID for the border. The pattern is one that I found at the quilt show. It was for a miniature quilt that I just made bigger. It is Fine and Dandy #622 by Country Threads. The first pic is before the quilting as it shows the colors better. Thanks for looking. Sneed
