Some of the fabrics have a native to Alaska appeal. Batiks have a lot of wildlife that is also native to Alaska. My most favorite shop to order online from is in Skagway, AK (never been there-only in my dreams)

My son took me to a new shop on Saturday that was celebrating their first anniversary and my DGD's and I hit 2 today in Anchorage and a JoAnns. It rained here all day....so not so much fun of shoppin'. Tomorrow, my DGD's (9 and 7 yrs) will start on a couple projects they bought fabric for in Saturday. We will go to Wasila and Palmer on Wednesday. Wasila has a quiltshop that I haven't hit since 2008 only because DH thought I had enough.....(who says that ?????). He's not with this trip, so I'm hittin' them all. Hope to go towards Homer and Seward this weekend. There is a couple great shops in those two places.
