As a follow up: I gave the little I Spy quilt to my friend yesterday when we met for lunch. She was overwhelmed, making much over it, and so making me very glad I gave it. She doesn't sew at all, so is impressed by what those, like us, do, even when it's pretty ordinary. She also assured me that the granddaughter is "a quilt person" and will love it, too.
