Funny this should come up today. I went into a quilt shop today, and we were discussing that very thing. When you buy from a quilt show, they sell you on the bolt, and ship on the bolt, and it is MORE expensive then if they take the full bolt and remove the cardboard. Guess it must cost a lot because this shop owner buys all of her fabrics as flat folds, and sells at a much lower rate. She is making a name for herself because of that. Your right, fabric content is not listed, and that can be very important. The selvage gives the name of the company, and that is good enough for me. I buy from the Ben Franklin in Sandpoint Idaho, and the flat folds are some of the best and cheapest fabric I have found. Timless Tresaure, Benetrex to name two.
