Your dog sounds happy and well-adjusted. From all you stated, I would leave well enough alone.
Too often we get caught up placing human emotions on our animals and we usually end up wrong. You would know if your beloved 11 year old were unhappy and pining for another buddy. Doesn't sound like it is.
