I was recently reading a mini-quilt pattern that called for triangle paper for HST. I'm wondering how necessary it is. It seems one would be wasting a lot of the template paper, unless the it comes in various triangle sizes.

Please help educate me on purchasing triangle paper and whether it is necessary for making HST mini-quilts (Please let me know why/why not).
