[QUOTE=Dingle; My thought was to have a main neutral cover and then make smaller quilts to lay just on top of the bed. That way I can switch out anytime I want and I would be able to handle smaller tops. I could have tops for every season and Holiday. Dumb idea?[/QUOTE]

I am doing the same with our queen bed. In the past, I used a bed skirt with the quilt covering the mattress. Well, we found the mattresses are getting deeper and deeper when we replaced our mattress. The gap between the quilt and the bed skirt sure did not look appealing at all, lol. I got a white bedspread large enough to go all the way to the floor. This is one happy quilter!
