I think I posted this before, but it bears repeating. For my daughter's gold project, she made quillows and small animals and gave them to the police dept and the fire dept. We purchased plastic bags for them - do not seal the top- and they would carry a couple at a time in their vehicles. When they were called to a traumatic event (accident, fire or domestic problem) they could hand them to the child. This was often all it took to calm a child down and comfort them. We put them in the plastic bags to make it easier for the depts to store and carry. The sad part is that the 150 bags she made were gone in too short of a time! This is a great project for using up your scraps, your orphan blocks, a church or guild activity or a scout project.
