When I was in my twenties (many many many years ago) I was to meet some friends at a restaurant in an area I was not familiar with. After driving past a police car with 2 officers in it several times, they actually pulled me over. After telling them the name of place I was looking for they started to give me directions and said it was only a few minutes away. I guess I had that "look" because they both immediately said "never mind, just follow us". As I got to the restaurant my friends were all out front of the building ready to leave and they knew immediately when they saw the police car with its lights on that I was right behind the car.
