I was wondering about something quilt-y for a checkbook cover. I don't want anything too bulky, though. Any ideas? I was toying with making something up using scrapbook papers somehow adhered to an inexpensive checkbook cover.

Also, I saw a nice idea for a [small] stuffed bird in an old Family Circle magazine, but I didn't care for the shape of the bird. Their bird was done up in a red fabric with gold embroidery. I have a table cloth my Mom's cousin bought for his mother while he was stationed on Guam, how many years ago??? When I received it, it was still in the original box. Needless to say, the fabric came apart at every fold, when I tried washing it (also years ago). But I saved it, thinking some idea would come along. If I could make up a few small birds from this fabric, I could give them to various females in the family for their Christmas decor.
Thanks for your help!
