ps: trick with the "gold ribbon" that I discovered while doing the Jane Stickle quilt. When you need lots of tiny strips on a block, take a wider strip of fabric and press the seam allowance for one side to the back of the strip. Open the fold and sew the strip to the quilt along the fold line Open the strip and measure from the sewn line out to the width the strip should be and fold that side to the back of the strip. Hand stitch that side in place. Here is one from the Jane quilt. No piecing - all strips added to one piece of fabric!

How clever ... Wow when I made my Dear Jane block...I stitched all those little squares and strips to make it ... Now I know a better way. Thank you
