Here's one that gets lots of mileage in our family...
Note: This happened before my DH and I married.
My DH is a guitar player and cut his finger very deeply. He had a huge bandage on it and wondered aloud if his finger would heal so he could play again. My 8 y.o. son (from my first marriage) was learning how to play guitar and was standing next to him and heard him. Quite eagerly, DS looks up at him and says, "If your finger falls off can I have your guitar?" If I could have slipped under the linoleum tiles, I would have! DS is now 32 years old and DH and I laugh about this often. BTW...his finger healed nicely and he continues to play to this day. DS is now a drummer and hasn't touched a guitar since his teen years. I am still embarrassed...don't you love kids?
