I think it is great without the orange. But, if you feel it needs the splash, then go for it. I would just do it sparingly. Either as cornerstones or a VERY narrow (almost like a pintuck) around the blocks. Maybe it is the brightness of that particular orange. Maybe you can audition a 'lesser' orange, a batik with a bit of brown???
