Exactly! I go with Elmer's School Glue and tiny dots- you can curve it its on the bias. I suggest you draw a faint line that represents the center of your vine and it will be covered by the bias strips. I have used the metal bias bars in the past and love them. Since glue is no longer a four-letter word in the world of hand appliqué I use it when necessary and do t feel guilty like I did 20 or so years ago when I got the stink eye from my appliqué groups for mentioning the word "glue". Don't you love how times change😄😄. Just don't use Wonder Under - almost impossible to hand sew and gums up needles for machines. The Steam-a-Seam Lite should be perfect if you go that way - cut in strips just slightly smaller than your finished stem width and press on.
