Also, I checked on
http://www.allrecipes.com and they have a recipe almost identical to this pie but with a different name "Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie". It specifies using non-instant vanilla pudding, adds in 3 tbsp softened butter when adding in the egg and milk, so I think I'll try adding in the 3 tbsp butter next time.
