I apologize I haven't gotten back to you but this quilt is from a free tutorial called "Seven Shirts + Seven Steps = One Thrifty Quilt " You use 2 light men's shirts and 5 dark. There is only 2 blocks here a "Snowball" and a "9 patch". It's how you lay it out and the colors of shirts you choose.

It is tied and when you do you put the thread through the buttons that come off the shirts. This is also the same pattern from yardage.
