If you are considering renting time on a LA machine, hopefully you can get a free trial run. Some machines can be difficult to run. Different machines are different. Also, they may not be on a flat floor or unbalanced and therefore difficult to handle.
Also if you want to do some ruler work check the ruler tab and how stable it is.
