Yeah, you have to do something to suffocate them. Like oil, bleach, alcohol, ban roll on
... sure there are more. My aunt used to make us soak in a tub of hot water with Chlorox bleach in it after being out in the yard picking muscadines. She was fanatical about it. I hated it but didn't have chiggers.
