Default Home Is Where the Heart Is

I've always wanted to make a house quilt. I saw an advertisement for a home improvement website that had houses arranged into a heart shape. That gave me the idea to design this quilt with freezer-paper piecing houses. I've noticed that quilt show winners always quilt the snot out of their quilts. I thought I would try doing that on this quilt as well as some trapunto. There's no snot left...

I started piecing it on my Bernina 1630 until it broke. I continued piecing on my Featherweight. (I'm so glad I had that as a backup!) It was quilted on a sitdown HQ16.

I submitted this quilt entry into the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza yesterday. Fingers crossed that it gets juried in.
