i think in "quilter's" definition of "pre", it refers to doing that action before starting the quilt...at least that is my interpretation of the prefix used as it is in the original post.

...and btw, I do not do any of the pre actions...well, I do iron before cutting, and if I suspect a bleeder, I will hot water test a small piece. Don't use starch at all.
