I treat my fabric as I would the finished quilt. I wash it on delicate and machine dry it on low. I use spray starch and iron it before I cut out my quilt but I do not iron it if I am going add it to my stash. I never use fabric softener because it can cause yellow spots if the fabric is stored for a while. Especially here in Florida.
