I never spray, well. very seldom. I used the DecoAmerica Decor, Outdoor Living paint. It is paint for outside and inside and you can paint on plastic too. I did a plastic chair also and that requires a week of cure time, I think. You can get it at Joann's. I turned the chair upside down and sat and painted the legs and those parts underneath. then I did the back and dowels and then the seat and around the seat etc. I let that bake in the sun and did a second coat after about an hour and then I let those cure overnight. I need to do the third coat after a light sanding. Maybe tomorrow. Then I will paint a design on the seat. I still have to paint the rungs a different color. I love the chairs.

Let me add that I used a big soft brush and the paint goes on like butter. It's just a matter of spreading the paint quickly and lightly smoothing.
