A lot of people don't know their neighbors so well in this day and age, not like they used to when I was young, anyway. I wouldn't know if my neighbors died... not like I would have known if Mrs. Geovanes had died (our neighbor when I was 10-years-old).
True.. That's sad. Yes, the man at church who held the door for everybody and gave you your program, and candy for the kids, died in a car wreck just two weeks ago, tomorrow. Our neighbor died on June 1st, but we just found out today. We did talk to him, but not his wife or anyone else in his family, so there was no one who knew us well enough to tell us. We found out also that his wife's been sick and hasn't been out of the hospital in months. She was not even home when he died. His neighbor on the other side didn't know he'd died either! We are pretty close to that neighbor....
