I've never made them with a roast though, always used ground beef. Hmmm, I've got some pulled pork left in the frig, bet that would work too.
So are you saying you boil the ground beef and cabbage together with the onions and spices? Oh my, this sounds soooo good! Wonder if I could use the little triangle shaped tube bisquilts? I live alone and I'm thinking it would be so much easier. What do you think?
