I am so sorry that you felt you were the "stupid one" . The learning curve on nearly everything to do with quilting is huge! We just conquer one hill and another one presents its ugly head! I congratulate you on finding a way to remember how to thread the needle. I took a Sharpie to my new long arm to remember to lower the presser foot, most of my machines do that automatically, but not my long arm! So now I have a note to myself to lower it so I do not feel so darn stupid when I forget
