I have one just like that that I purchased many years ago-I would guess in the '80;s and it probably came from Hancocks. I keep my mother's button collection in it. I have two other Singer tins that I got about the same time to use to decorate my sewing room (and stash stuff in). One has a picture of the Singer 401 machine on it ( I still have my 401). They do say that 'Singer' is a registered trademark or the Singer Corporation. Just enjoy it even though it is not vintage-someday it will be.
