I have enjoyed reading all of your responses. But I had to reply to try and help jan. Can you make a pillow to fit your seat that is thicker at the front to adjust the seat properly? Maybe with ties to keep it in place.

Hubby bought a new office chair for the computer and I have to put a pillow on it to use it. It actually has thrown my back out of whack!

I usually do all of my house and garden chores first thing in the morning. Then I will go up and sew. If I am under the gun to finish some charity auction items I might change it up a little and let hubby do the gardening on his days off.
