I think I would construct the 4 corner pieces separately. (The ones with the diagonal strips and the squares. They seem to stand out as separate pieces to me) That would leave your center Lemoyne star with two strips and a triangle going in north, south, east and west directions. Then attach the corner squares using Y seams. Interesting block ut not for the faint of heart!
