Kay here ----

I really screwed up the third week of September and failed to accomplish anything related to sewing! Zero.... My plans to finish the border and backing on one quilt plus making some sleeve material in advance went down the drain.

With meetings, reports, family party, etc. the week flew by without any sewing. There is something else that was positive, however. My husband asked me to work on some family genealogy about his father and paternal grandparents. He is working with me!!!! Tomorrow we go to the library to photocopy some obits. Just a brief trip, but we are doing something together. :-)

Earlier this week, I dropped off a quilt for quilting. I picked it up today. The binding was made ahead of time, so I do plan to apply the binding by machine and then do the finishing touch by hand. I need to plan a descriptive label to acknowledge who made the handmade cotton lace which was inserted in one seam. FYI did you ever see some rickrack decorated with variagated cotton thread. My mother crocheted around the top of the zigs and then attached zags with one crochet stitch followed by a short chain of stitches on the hem edge of the pillow case. Mom went through the Great Depression.... Paternal grandmother made the lace before 1965 and Mom made the decorative rickrack before 1962.

Lets do the lst week of October starting this weekend. I need to be accountable!
