Back in the old days....ahhhh.....we sprinkled the cotton shirts, tablecloths, etc. with water, rolled them up, put in a plastic bag, stored the bag overnite in the refrigerator, and then "ironed" the next day with a dry iron. Steam irons came later. Do you recall using a soda pop bottle as the water container? The little sprinkler plug had cork on the stem to grip firmly inside the bottle neck.................. I also recall those old irons were h*e*a*v*y!!!
