I wonder the same thing. I googled it and found its a star and its also a salmon that has been lightly cured and smoked. Named for Nova Scotia. Also known as Nova Lox, a classic Jewish brunch food. Lets see if that's right. Sounds like it would go good with the other foods she mentioned. Also see its made in NY and DTCM said its a NY breakfast! That's my guess!
