Yes it is important to understand how to be safe with it all at that age too. They also taught her the basics like the parts of a sewing machine and had them sew on some printed lines in diffrent shapes, so all and all she got alot of information from a 2 hour class. She goes again next saturday and gets to make a project, I think she said they were making puppets or something.
