Thank you all so very much for your kind replies.
glassbird -I see you found the book - yes, it is by Jennifer Chiaverini - (writer of The Elm Creek fiction books )
Sewlittletime - I run a Dear Jane group here in the UK and would be happy to help with anything. One great blog is -- thatquilt.bogspot where Anina has done a tutorial on EVERY block and triangle. Scroll down and you will see a list in green ink of every row and block - click on the one you want to do. Also further down the page - there are dates ( also in green ink ) Click on 2011 and go down to January and she gives a lot of joining instructions, which are so helpful. I have no affiliation to Anina - I am just grateful to her ! Also, look at dearjane.com - loads of info and tips there.
I would recommend the DJ rulers - especially for the triangles.
orangeroom - the quilt is 78" square at the moment, but I want to add borders to it.
SewingSew - most of the blocks were paper pieced ( as I love that method ) with some hand sewing as a little applique and the "Y" seams.
BrendaK - Most of the blocks are PP and they are 6 inches.
Beehiveof9 - I would fully recommend making this quilt from the Loyal Union Sampler book ( and Sylvia's Bridal Sampler ) both by J. Chiaverini ( No affiliation to her ) I have learnt a lot on the journey.
Thank you all again for your very kind comments - you have all made my day !
