I see maviskw has already given you the advice that I would use. Also be very careful using fabric glue; it can seep through and show on the top side. I would place a dot of glue between my fingers then "roll" the threads together being careful not to let them stick to the fabric. ALSO don't try to iron after using the fabric glue - it will make a mess on your iron and spread to the fabric.
