If you have a quilt that has damage you could do what we did. Mom found a bear's paw quilt at a yard sale and it had wear areas. I took it and made long pillow cases out of it and she put them on the cushions on her porch swing. She left the ends long and just let them hang over one end.
I have an old ladder painted white I use sometimes to hang mine on.
I used a lap size quilt I made as a kitchen curtain. I just hung it at the window as you would on the wall and then just drew it to one side with a sash when I wanted to open the window. This window faces north and gets little sunlight on it.
