On my Bernina, I always press the needle up down feature before using the needle threaded. If yours works similarly, it needs to be in its most up position to use threader or you end up bending the wire and it has to go to the shop. Change out your needle in case it has a burr and make sure it is fully inserted, make sure the needle is in its most up position and try again.
