My mat has so many cuts in it that it causes lots of skips when I am cutting on it. I have decided to replace it but am now wondering if there is a chance a good cleaning and soak might save it. It's worth a try.

I was at Joann's yesterday looking at replacements and was surprised to see that most of the mats available were not self-healing. The size I wanted was not available in self-healing so I didn't get one. Do you buy the ones that don't heal and if so, how is their life span compared to the other?
