Talking My Underground Railroad Quilt ala Eleanor Burns

Our local quilt club just finished a block-of-the-month using the Underground Railroad pattern book by Eleanor Burns. It was a really fun quilt to make.

Although I tried to follow most of Eleanor's instructions in the book, some of the blocks I just had to do the easy way. LOL I also purchased the curved pressure foot to do the drunkard's path which actually made it very easy to do.

I also wanted to give it a sort of attic windows look cuz I imagined the people involved looking for clues through the windows of the homes (like a candle in the window).

I love sampler quilts cuz as a new quilter I get to try various blocks that stretch my comfort zone (like applique and curved piecing).

I used fabric from the Mill Brook Collections fat quarter bundle. I still need to find some backing fabric for this quilt and then I'll either machine or hand-quilt it.
