Welcome. If you are making the quilt - you get to make the rules about size! I am old school and love to play with graph paper. I also cut out colored construction paper, scribble pics on them and play with arranging them until I figure out the placement and size that pleases me. I could do it on the computer, but I really like playing with paper.
