I hadn't thought of adding some to each side. I may play with that. I have cut out 13 more strips (7 1/2 inches once sewn), and I am playing with them.
I guess it only matters which is up when I am ready to put the label on it. Not there yet...
It may be time to do something else for a bit. Maybe my brain will figure out what I want to do.

Another thought ..... with the added width, will it end up being square?
Bonus there ... there would be four ways to consider which way was up!
Sorry, if I have just thrown you a bigger dilemma.
As for the label ... just put it where you like, and your friend can just use the quilt whichever way s/he likes. Another option would be to put the label on an angle into the corner ... a little less demanding as to which way is up!
