I learned to sew making Barbie clothes. I was 8 at the time and the store bought clothes for her cost more than mine. And since my mother sewed clothes for my sisters and me, we had scraps she allowed me to use. My BF's mother had the patterns she let us use. (My BF's mother mades such beautiful Barbie clothes, I still have one. And a couple of the ones I made. Let's just say there is no question which was which.) :-)
I have toyed with the idea of making some clothes for my niece's American Girl dolls but so far decided I should stick with quilting.
