i too had the Euro, but found that it is only 1100 watts and did not get as hot as my newer irons. I did not like the fact that when it ran out of water you needed to find a potholder to release the valve and fill with water. My iron was very heavy .....which I liked at the time.....now not so much. It only lasted about a year and I bought a Panasonic from Costco and it is 1700 watts and fantastic. I would look at the iron that "stands up" when you put it down. I have heard a lot of good reviews in comparison to the Euro. Pricey when I can get the same results from my cheapy from Costco or Amazon. Wattage is what sells me on an iron.
