I agree with you. I suppose it's because I was a Home Economics teacher (my first career). The home ec. curriculum has changed to more psychology and sociology-based studies. Actually (IMHO) they are teaching many things that should be taught at home -- if you know what I mean.

I understand that some few HE teachers are still incorporating (on their own) a little of the sewing and cooking in their curriculum. And I say "more power to them."
